The Department of Housing Management is responsible for the day to day management and administration of Millville Housing Authority's leasing, occupancy and relocation activities, and for ensuring that our housing communities play a vital part in their neighborhoods as a whole.

The Department of Housing Management receives and processes applications for admission to Millville Housing Authority's Public Housing program and maintains the public housing waiting list. The Department of Housing Management handles the initial application process, as well as questions regarding public housing in general or about status on the waiting list. The Department of Housing Management also coordinates requests for resident transfers, oversees the transfer review process, is responsible for the screening of prospective residents, determines resident eligibility for housing, and also coordinates the offer and assignment of units for applicants and residents receiving new units.

The Department of Housing Management also administers Millville Housing Authority's federal Section 8 program. It subsidizes hundreds of eligible families in privately-owned apartments and houses, providing an alternative to Millville Housing Authority's conventional public housing.

The Department of Housing Management includes an Inspector who performs regular inspections of the Millville Housing Authority's subsidized units to ensure compliance with all applicable safety and sanitary codes and program requirements.

Conventional housing means that the property is owned and managed by Millville Housing Authority.

Rental Assistance housing means that the property is owned by a private landlord and Millville Housing Authority assists with the rent payment to the landlord.
