Section 8 - Section 8 is a housing voucher program that is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for very-low income families. A portion of the tenant's rent is paid by the Housing Authority to the landlord and the remaining portion of the rent is the responsibility of the tenant. Tenants are allowed to choose where they live, as long as the unit meets the requirements of the program and passes inspection.
